Temple of the Five Immortals
A place beyond time, in the heart of the sacred Wudang Mountains
Located at the top of one of the most remote peaks in the sacred Wudang mountain range (Hubei province, China), the Temple of the Five Immortals is an ancient Taoist hermitage nestled in untouched wilderness and silence. Far from tourist circuits and accessible only on foot through a forest trail, the temple is a place of deep spiritual retreat and practice.
Here, Master Li Shifu and the resident community preserve and transmit authentic Taoist teachings in their purest forms:
- Internal Qi Gong
- Tai Chi and Wudang Martial Arts
- Taoist Meditation
- Ceremonies, prayers, and study of ancient scriptures
- Alchemical practices and traditional Chinese medicine
The temple is named after the Five Immortals, legendary figures of Taoist tradition who are said to have attained enlightenment in these very mountains. Every stone, path, and tree still seems to carry traces of their presence.

Meet Li Shifu – Master of the Temple of the Five Immortals
Li Shifu, whose Taoist name is Du Song Feng, is the resident Master and abbot of the Temple of the Five Immortals, located deep in the sacred Wudang Mountains. Born in 1964 in Henan province, he has dedicated his life to spiritual pursuit and the study of Taoist arts. From a young age, he immersed himself in martial disciplines and religious traditions, integrating knowledge from Buddhism, Christianity, and Taoism.
Since 1996, he has lived as a monk in the heart of Wudang Mountain, where he deeply practices inner alchemy, Taoist rituals, traditional Chinese medicine, and sacred mantras. In 2000, he was appointed abbot of the temple, becoming the spiritual guide of the Taoist community and custodian of the ancient tradition of the Five Immortals.

I don’t want to promote myself—I’m just a beggar. Just being alive makes me extremely grateful to the Gods… If students learn the teachings well, apply them properly, and are able to help others, that brings me true happiness.
